About a month ago I made plans to head to NY for a family weekend. I knew I’d have Friday night free and saw that Mets tickets were going for cheap. I kept an eye on things and finally bought a pair of tickets in section 111 for $62 each. That price included fees and a $12 credit, good toward merchandise or concession food. I’ve never sat in the field level at Citi Field, so I jumped at this deal and didn’t regret it for a minute. The view was great, and it’ll be hard to sit up high again at Citi Field.

The game was the first in the series against the Dodgers, and Andre Ethier was rocking a 29-game hitting streak. Even though he extended the streak in the game, I’d like to think that Jose Reyes (two triples and a double)  and Jason Pridie (three-run homer in the sixth) stole the spotlight, combining to help the Mets to a 6-3 win. As Metsgrrl has said, the Mets need to keep Reyes.

Pictures from the rest of the game are here.

As noted in my previous post, several Mets Alumni were at the game as well, greeting fans inside the Jackie Robinson Rotunda. Earlier in the week, I read that some would be there, and I all but forgot about until I saw a crowd of people around Edgardo Alfonzo. I immediately bought a program so the former players could sign something for me. Each guy was very accommodating for pictures as well. (John Franco was also there, but I decided to pass on waiting for him since I have another picture with him from a different time.)

It was a great night at the ballpark, and I hope to enjoy a few more in-person wins this season.
