Mets at Cubs – 2017
The season had so much promise back in April. And then the usual injuries, and maybe some bad luck, bit the Mets. It’s been a long season, one that feels like it’s never going to end. Except for the Mets still had to visit Chicago for their yearly series at Wrigley.
You never know how Chicago weather in mid-September will be. As it turned out, it was the only good thing about the series between the Mets and Cubs. Each game started off in a tolerable way, but then the wheels just fell off for the Mets. I think the runs they gave up might’ve become a series record. A bad record, of course. But thankfully the weather was nice and comfortable.
This is possibly the first set of games where I didn’t take pictures, other than “view from seat” types. Knowing the games had the chance to be bad, I just wanted to sit back and watch some baseball and not focus on taking pictures.
The 2018 schedule has been released and the Mets will be back in late August. Hopefully, the weather will be as comfortable, but the outcomes better.
