The Chicago Blackhawks

July 11, 2007

Aside from the Blackhawks just sucking in general for the last x-amount of seasons, let’s just say their home schedule sucks this year. NHL schedules were announced earlier today, and sure I’m a Rangers fan, but I was hoping to at least see them, or the Penguins, or Islanders or Devils play here this coming season. Nope. Not one! How do they come up with these schedules?? I know it’s all about conference play, but still, the teams I just listed are top teams and would have to draw a crowd! I’m sure no other Chicago resident cares about east coast teams playing here (or even their own team playing) but I was hoping to see a game that I’d care about rather than just going to enjoy a game as hockey fan. In any case, it’ll be nice to pay a cheap price for good seats. Stay tuned.

  1. Ok, so I agree that the Blackhawks suck. But I really just wanted to vent as the Chicago Reds fan. Tonight was close. Hopefully we won’t get swept.

  2. I was following along on ESPN.com and when I saw the Reds tied it, I was worried, but we pulled out the win, like we’ve been doing all year long. We should find a bar to watch one of the other games at.

  3. This is a clear case of East Coast Bias. Welcome to the midwest where everyone doesn’t care about the the teams east of the Ohio River. Nearly half of the NHL Teams are west of Pittsburgh which would make games between the Chicago Blackhawks and the rest of the West much more interesting than the teams out East. Who won the Cup this year?
