It’s safe to say the Mets season has been over for awhile now, even though they still have games to play for another 3 weeks or so. Needless to say, there hasn’t been much excitement to talk about. Until today. The 2010 schedule was released and it caused a bit of chatter on Twitter.
For Mets fans every where this day is a time to look ahead. To see what possible road trips can be planned. To see when the Mets come to town for those, like myself, who don’t live on the East Coast anymore.
Let’s get to what I found good about the 2010 schedule:
The Mets visit Milwaukee over the weekend of May 28-30. This is a do-able day trip for me from Chicago.
The Mets head to Baltimore over the weekend of June 11-13. I’ve been to the city before, but never a game, so I’d like to get there one day. This would be a short, cheap flight. It also helps that there might be a person or two I could stay with.
This is the one I’m most excited about though, Pittsburgh over the weekend of August 20-22. I’ve never been to Pittsburgh, and PNC Park and the surrounding area look amazing in every view I have seen of it. And going to Pittsburgh will also let me stock up on some new Steelers gear.
The bad things about the schedule:
Just one really: the Mets come to town to face the Cubs on what will be one of my busiest weekends of work (September 3-5) and the odds of taking a day off will be very slim. If the stars align themselves properly, I might be able to make at least one game, maybe two.
All I want to know is, when will the Mets come to Chicago and play the White Sox?? That’s one series I really I want to see.
What do you think of the schedule?
